“Why Demon!?” Anatomy of a Demon

In the ancient world there have been several concepts of spirituality, depictions of anthropomorphized beings. Along with deeply contemplated directions, devotees have often followed a set of strict practices to feed the concept of a particular ideology. In the aim to embody the principality of an entity into their own being for a time. This act is commonly called possession, and is a foundational concept among ancient spiritual practices of indigenous people the world over.

Although pagan is often reserved for those practices of European tribes, it is a word that has been used to describe native practices the world over. This Latin derived word is used in a derogatory fashion to allude to unholy practices. The word pagan is derived from the latin pagani which translates to a person of the land. As during the early formation of the incredibly oppressive catholic church, people of the land still held tight to their home grown spiritual concepts. Remember the cross was used as a propaganda weapon first to dominate the minds of those whose land was slowly captured. Maybe this is why it resembles a sword piercing whatever is beneath it.

This was a vital process, as one can scarcely find one native spiritual concept that does not have a representation of violence, and self advocacy. These spiritual concepts of defiance, and revolution were literally demonized. In other words these old world Gods were rebranded as the Demons. Just as pagan became synonymous with warship of the Devil, and possession an evil act against God. In effect sacrificing the razor's edge of our own spiritual concepts, and therefore dulling our collective blade for causing change in the etheric cosmos. One could say we demonized our guardians, leaving our communities totally open to external spiritual attack.

What then does the Demon represent? This ideology holds the power of complete embodiment and expression. As that is the power we lost when we cast out their relentless and uncompromising attitude of these spirits. In the time these ancient entities were fed and held in reverence, notice the appearance of humankind. The body modification of the past still puts our modern physical transformation to shame. The level of piercing, and tattoo was extensive affecting the appearance dramatically. This was true all over the globe, but nowhere more than the dark continent. The look of native peoples was associated with hades, hell fire, and eternal damnation. While that of the colonists with heavenly ascension.Yet who was committing crime against the divine, Truly?

However the spread of this spiritual bias became a self fulfilling prophecy as the colonists uplifted those who conformed as to bring validity to their beliefs. Not only was this conformity but a brainwashing tactic, consisting of the loss of appearance and slow erosion of identity. Shaving the hair of native peoples has been recorded to cause a level of amnesia. Skills of tracking, and foraging, forgotten when the locks were cut. This is a concept in both the old testament of the bible, as well as in the modern DSM. Which marks the important connection between identity, belief, and memory, represented through the concept of dissociative identity disorder. In this mental disorder memories can be gained and lost depending on which identity or alter is leading the person at the time.

Our pagan concepts are often known as land based spirituality, or root work. This is because of a consistent emphasis on the importance of the natural world, an idea that was decapitated almost immediately with modern day imperialism. A respect, and sovereignty of the natural world has always been crucially important in ancient spiritual practice. Causing fear of the intervention of entities if they were to impact a sacred space negatively. A respect and love for nature is so paramount, that without it we will quickly create our own demise.

Yet new age imperialist religion has preached a doctrine of human possession of the earth that has led to its mutilation, and disregard. However colonists view the people of the land as no different than the land, which is why the native people will always experience the fate of their land. Whether or not they are deceived into believing themselves apart from it.

The idea that religion is used as a weapon of propaganda is not new, as it has been used to raise money. And hell used to hypnotize and confine easily suggestible citizens into submission, with the promise of being saved. All while there lives, the true gift is being constricted by those same ones preaching. The soul of the Demon will revolt, rebel, and reclaim, relentless, restless, and indomitable. The Demon will achieve its goal by any means necessary. The Demons' shouts will not be silenced, its blade sharp, its fire unquenchable, its hunger will be fulfilled, and its deepest desire satisfied. One can understand why a colonial power would take the essence of these entities and attempt to do away with them. Hiding them in the pits of hell fire, and the smoke of deceptions.

The self flagellation of the monk can be easily romanized, and their self sacrificing nature adored. But be not confused, self hate, and self denial are tools of control and chains of psychic bondage.

If it is by the fruit of the tree that we can know whether it is poisonous or edible. See the world of the modern in which ancient pagan practices are some of the rarest. Comparing it with the world were we new spirit through interaction with nature, and the endless stories in each of our blood. Now ask yourself: are the Demons locked away in some dark, earthy, pit, or rather in the silver and ivory and stained glass of your cathedral. It's bricks built upon the unmarked graves of the indigenous land warshipper.

We have been told possession is Demonic, because it is through possession that those who have lived may live again. It is the army of the dead, the reincarnation of each ancestor as a zombie. That is feared, as the dead far outweigh the living, and those souls seek compensation yet to be paid. So instead they wish us to forget the unmarked grave, and the practices of our forefathers, writing them off as hell spawn, and Demon worshippers.

As if the indigenous people the world over grow their locks, and break the chains of the old world Gods, relentlessly. change will be as unstoppable as the ocean waves pushing inland. We as people of the land are as uncompromising as the roots that break apart asphalt the second it is left in its wake. And as our minds return to their natural state, the world around us will become again the heaven we once knew it to be. As the organic world has been here all along, just as the spirits awaiting to guide us back home.

In order to demonstrate the fundamental truth of what I have shared, contemplate the definition of Demon as stated in the oxford dictionary. You will find two definitions.

1.An evil spirit or Devil, especially one thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor in hell. “He was possessed by a Demon.

2. A forceful, fierce, or skilful performer of a specified activity.
